Android has been much consistent with their updates in the past couple of years. We have been seeing many features been added in every android release. It always prioritizes its user needs and provides updates on those user requirements. We have been seeing digital wellbeing been added which was a good feature. Every Android release brings new feature and recently Google has launched an android 11 preview or developer release. You can have those updated if you are using a Pixel phone and you have to download and flash the os into your device from their website.

You can download the preview version from here.

Nowadays we are more likely to see foldable phones, punch holes or waterdrop notch, etc. And day by day these types of innovations will go on and android 11 brings compatible application features that will be supporting these types of display cutouts. And we can see 5G is everywhere so android 11 will bring more 5G enabled services like high res game assets or 4k streaming and so on. And in addition, it will bring more features in machine learning tools.

Whenever a news update been introduced we can guess that there might be some improvement into the following sections,

  1. User Interface
  2. Privacy and Security
  3. And so on

User interface

Lots of things been introduced in the part of the interface.

  1. The scheduled dark mode is here. Now you can set a time when the dark mode should on and it should of. In addition, you can set another mode and which is Turns On from sunset to sunrise.
  2. Now we can use android default message application as bubble chat head like the messenger. So messaging is much easier than it was before. You can relate this with the exact messenger chat head.
  3. You will get a dedicated reply option if you get an email or message. And in reply to those images, you can paste images that seems pretty cool.
  4. Now you will get a much efficient screen recorder in android 11. We saw in android 10 it was quite a mess but in android 11 it came up with new features and seems much reliable.
  5. Android 11 also brings improvements to Do Not Disturb — mostly in that it gives better support for managing DND exceptions which is something I am pretty psyched about. As you probably know, with Android 10, the DND menu already featured exceptions, but now there are better, more organized categories like People, Apps, and Alerts.

Privacy and security

Well, android seems much aware of their privacy and security terms more than it was before. They have introduced a cool mechanism in terms of permission. Suppose an app will use your camera, before android 11, the system used to ask about allowing or deny. Now you will have the following options,

  1. Only This Time
  2. While Using The App
  3. Deny

You can relate those three terms like what they are imposing. So there is no option of always allowing permission.

Some small updates,

  1. Turns of notification while recording video
  2. Pin an app to share menu
  3. Show screen refresh rate all the time
  4. Notification history page where you will be able to see which app with permission using which service in time.
  5. The music player in quick settings
  6. Scrolling screenshot.

So that's it and let's see what exactly we can get from this new android version.

Thanks for reading.
