A better way of illustration
Introduction
As a developer, we always want a product which will have a great impact on the end-user. And it's not that much east to achieve this milestone. The main thing to get a larger impact is having an idea that will solve a real-life problem. But apart from the idea, there is a larger area which is the user interface. Well, I am not a UI/UX designer or researcher, I am just a developer but I can definitely say that without an intuitive UI your product will not suffer in the long run.
Background
I am writing this article if you want to build something good on your own and want to make your system a better one without having knowledge of different UI tools. Suppose you are a single person and have a good which you are implemented but doesn't have that much interaction. So you tried to change some icons and their placement, text color, and their size, and other basic UI polishing. But if you want to add an illustration work that will not be easy for you because this work is not easy. One thing to mention is there is some developer who has good experience in photoshop and illustration, they can achieve this task easily.
Real-life experience
Let me share my own experience with you. I was developing a health-related application recently and I have gathered all the features together but whenever I used the system just for feature testing, I felt like something is missing. Although I was trying to follow some free design work in dribble. We know that most of the work in dribble has some good illustrations and icons. And any system can have a great impact on these two properties, although there are other properties.
Tool
So I was searching google if I can create my own illustrations then it would be amazing. So I started searching and came up with a good online tool which is not totally free, but you can use some of its features which can handle your basic work at least.
The tool is icons8 vector creator. I find it quite useful while managing may basic to intermediate illustration work for my application. I will provide some of the illustrations that I designed just for your reference.
Working procedure
Its always good to have an account where your all work will assemble and ut isn't that much harder.https://icons8.com/vector-creator this is their home page.
There is some basic information, which you can skip. Later you can go to this link for creating new illustration work. Then you will see an editor window with lots of features like adding new components [for example people, animals, objects, etc.], resizing the background, export, undo, redo, and some other important tools.
So now you have all the components in front of you, you just need to place them as you want. Beneath are some of the work that I have done with this tool, you can just have a look for your reference.
I created this one for my running project. Well, all know that illustration always makes something more intuitive. Although this work doesn't take that much effort. I created this one with just 3–4 objects by placing them as per my need.But the main thing was with the placement because we know that alignment means a lot in terms of user experience.
